Random Slices

Random Slices, a group exhibit by members of the New York City Photography Meetup group, opens on Friday, June 3rd at the Chrystie Street Gallery with the “official” opening reception taking place the next day, Saturday, June 4th from 3:00 to 7:00pm.

The show runs through Sunday, June 19th.

Not only is this the first group exhibit for Meetup NY but also the grand opening of The Chrystie Street Gallery. Owner, Hilton Ruiz has been working round the clock reshaping the second floor of a turn-of-the-century building into a modern day fine art gallery. Wide-open spaces and friendly faces greet you upon ascent into the gallery.

Random Slices is a compilation of many different types and stages of photographers from the seasoned professional to the creative newcomer to the world of photography. A mix of traditional and digital photography makes up this show and guarantees the viewer an exciting mix of images in Random Slices.

Anyone going to this? I'm definitely going to make it.

Hi all,

I attended both the opening and reception of the Random Slices exhibit and found not only the exhibited works to be really impressive, but the space was great as well. I met the organizer Richard Feuer who put together an incredible exhibit. While the opening was a bit quiet, the reception the next day was very busy.

I asked a lot of visitors how they found out a bout the gallry and many were part of the meetup group, but surprisingly, several found out about the exhibit because of our site!

So if you are not busy next next two weekends and can make it down to the gallery, please let them know you came from this site, and let us know how you liked the exhibit!
