32 dancers and musicians from PURE will do a public procession and performance from 3 to 5pm. Starting at the East Coast Memorial in Battery Park and will end at City Hall.

I've seen PURE and members of PURE a number of times and they're well worth a trip to lower manhattan. Details are on their website.

The Gotham Girls Roller Derby will be having a match between the Brooklyn Bombshells and the Queens Of Pain this friday at 7:30.

The match is held at Skate Key at 138th Street just off the 4/5 Stop in the Bronx.

There are endless amounts of portraits of the girls and they've appeared in a number of magazines including German Playboy. What they need are action shots so if you're a sports photographer, they'd love to have you. If you're not, its a great excuse to try out that 3200 ISO setting on your camera (and your copy of Noise Ninja), show off that new flash unit, or practice pushing film a stop or two.

Contact gingersnap@gothamgirlsrollerderby.com to get a press pass and the entry is $12 for the match.
