Photographer Iris Klein will be part of a multimedia exhibition of several Austrian artists living in the US who have created work based around the idea of global culture and being a european living in America.
I've been to several shows at the Austrian Cultural Forum and they've generally been very good if somewhat academic minded. The building itself is photogenic enough to make it worth a trip uptown.
The opening reception is March 6 from 6 to 8pm and admission is free.
The beer may or may not be free (but it will be cheep).

Are you a NYC photographer with funny or outrageous photographs of the greatest city in the world? If so, the folks at I Saw It In New York have recently launched a web site that will display them!
According to the site, "[they] are building a website devoted to photo submissions of all the crazy, outrageous, funny, gross, cute, unique images that make New York what it is... seen through the eyes of New Yorkers."
All you have to do is submit your own pictures of New York to:
Remember to include your name (who you would like credited on the site) and the location of the photo.
The site is fairly new, so help them out by sending them your outrageous photos today!
Since I've been a busy busy flake, here's some links to exhibits. Hopefully next week I'll return with a pared down listing of just the photographic events so you don't have to hunt.

At PS1 on Tuesday March 3, Wolfgang Tillmans will discuss his large scale abstract photographs. The opening of the show will be this Sunday (2/26) along with a bunch of other stuff. Admission at PS1 is cheeper than your daily ration of coffee so there's no excuse to not go. Don't miss the Peter Hujar exhibit which is only on display until March 6.

Today, Canon announced the latest edition to the Canon dSLR family. After reviewing the latest updates, one has to wonder if it was worth the wait. It appears to be a 20D after a half-cycle on roids; certainly not the full or multiple cycles we all expected.
DPReview has a good review of the new features, which include:
Hopefully this will bring down the prices of the 20D and 350D. If you happen to get your hands on the 30D, tell us what you think about it!
